In April 2008, the Michigan District became a registered charitable organization with Project12Baskets (P12B), which means you can give a donation to the Michigan District without writing a check!

How does it work?
P12B provides an efficient marketplace exchange where charitable people can donate generously without giving money. Utilizing powerful web based technologies and an effective sales process; P12B helps organizations turn gifted leftovers into bountiful fundraising. P12B challenges people to look closely at their abundance to determine if what was once precious may better serve a more useful cause.

P12B is paid a transaction fee only when items are sold and a minimum of 70% will come directly to the Michigan District. As the items are sold, the Michigan District receives the dollars and you get a wonderful tax deduction!

Follow these three easy steps to turn your leftovers into funds for the Michigan District:

1. Locate items of value – These items are ones that would typically sell for $20 or more. You can check the current “Hot list” on the P12B website to use as a guide.

2. Register your item – The preferred method of registration is online. Click on Donate Now on the left. A registration form will be pulled up. Complete the form and then hit submit.

3. Bring the item to the Collection Center – If you do not hear from a P12B Representative within a week, your item is acceptable for donation. You can either bring your donation to the P12B Collection Center in Rochester Hills; 2155 Avon Industrial; Rochester Hills, MI 48309 (map) or to the Michigan District Office; 3773 Geddes Rd; Ann Arbor, MI 48105 (map) and a P12B Representative will pick it up from there. If you have a large item, a P12B Representative will call you to schedule a pickup.

Project12Baskets draws its name from the story of the feeding of the 5,000. There we read how the Lord took meager provisions (5 loaves of bread and 2 fish) and fed a small army of followers. He fed everyone and when the crowd had eaten until they were full, He said to his disciples, "why don't you pick up the leftovers." When they did, to their surprise, there were 12 baskets filled to the top.
