"Touching Lives, Giving Hope" A Christian Care Concert was held Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church in Troy.

Over 300 people attended the Christian Care Concert "Touching Lives, Giving Hope" held on January 31, 2010. We thank the members of Faith, Troy for providing its beautiful facilities and its supportive staff for this event. The concert featured Billy D. Brooks Memorial Lutheran Choir, Detroit Urban Lutheran School Choir, Lutheran City Ministries Girls and Boys Choir, Lutheran High School North Choir, and Concordia University Ann Arbor's Arborsong.

Committee Co-Chairperson, Ray Zavada of the Michigan District said of the event, "The concert was a joy to see many months of planning and preparation by so many people of faith come together in such a magnificent and inspiring way. Each choir performed beautifully and inspired as their opportunity came. Each one was a compliment to the choir that performed before and after. Our deepest appreciation goes to each concert performer for their willingness to participate in the concert. May God be glorified through this concert and may hearts be touched for greater service to those who will be beneficiaries."

Arborsong Director, Brian Altevogt added, "I'm grateful for the opportunity to hear young children and experienced singers praising God in compelling and dramatic song. Each group brought a unique style, but the message was unified and clear! It was a wonderful idea to combine so many people who are in different places in their faith journeys. I'm confident that my students found the experience rich and inspiring. There were many great moments, but I found the end of the third piece of the Billy D. Brooks Memorial Choir particularly powerful."

Proceeds from the concert went to the choirs, Haiti Relief through the Michigan District, LCMS, Lutheran Child and Family Service of Michigan, Lutheran Homes of Michigan, Project Compassion Ministries, and the Michigan District Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
