Many congregations throughout the Michigan District have ongoing specialized outreach efforts. Some of those efforts are directed toward individuals with specific needs (i.e. hearing impaired, visually impaired), toward college campuses near one of our congregations, and toward some of the various ethnic groups that can be found concentrated in different areas of the state.

Another specialized ministry is a Congregational Satellite Site. In addition to the formation of a New Mission, existing congregations may expand their mission outreach by establishing a Satellite Worship Site; a place where worship is held other than the main campus of the congregation. A satellite site is not intended to become a separate LCMS congregation, though may be given a name other than the main congregation in order to distinguish it from the congregation's other satellite locations.

For information about the specialized ministries in our District, please contact the Michigan District Mission Director, Rev. Roosevelt Gray, Jr.
