Ablaze!

Welcome to the Michigan District Ablaze! site!

Ablaze! is a Synodical movement focused on sharing the Gospel with 100,000,000 people worldwide between now and 2017, the 500 Anniversary of the posting of the 95 Theses.

We hope to create a friendly challenge between our District congregations and their members to see how much we can contribute to the 100,000,000 Gospel contact goal.

Specifically, congregations and their people are encouraged to consider:

• Setting a congregational goal for Gospel contacts, then reporting those statistics on the Synod's website
• Beginning new congregations in the District
• Getting involved in short term regional, national, and/or international mission trips

"Ablaze! Torch Relay: Coast to Coast" - 2008 raised over $42,000!

Another aspect of Ablaze! in the Michigan District is a personal challenge. We are offering individuals a challenge that addresses personal, spiritual disciplines. It is hoped that as people take up that challenge, an ever greater fervor for the Gospel will grow!

While there are no set programmatic materials, resources are available through the LCMS website.
