Michigan District Cyber Conferences


There are currently five locations in which you can attend the Cyber Conferences listed. St. Luke - Ann Arbor, Trinity - Muskegon, Holy Cross - Flushing, and Our Savior, Chelsea will provide the live, interactive seminars via satalite broadcasts. "Oncology Workshop


An Oncology Workshop will be held at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Ypsilanti Michigan on June 3. This workshop is for Parish Nurses, Stephen Ministers, Chaplains, Clergy, Caregivers, and anyone who is interested in cancer, its causes and treatments. The day will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:10 p.m. Oncologists, radiation oncologists, chemotherapy treatment, palliative care, hospice and spiritual care are among just some of the presentations. Retirement Planning Conference


"Retirement - The Ecstasy and the Agony!" is a conference sponsored by the Michigan District Commission on Ministerial Growth and Support for all pastors and their spouses as they prepare for future retirement (whether it be three, five, or ten years down the road) and the next stage of ministry. The conference will be held at Bay Valley Resort and Conference Center in Bay City on June 5. Main sectional topics, led by Rev. David Dubbelde, will include Spiritual and Emotional issues, Relational issues and Practical issues. A question and answer time will be available after each sectional topic. Three retired pastors from the Michigan District will be part of a panel sharing insights regarding retirement and what they wish they knew as they were planning for retirement. The cost to attend is $35 per person or $60 per couple and includes a continental breakfast and two-entree lunch. LCMS Children's Ministry Conference


The LCMS Children’s Ministry Conference will be held July 11-13 at St. Peter, Schaumberg, Illinois. This conference is targeted for ministry to families with children from early childhood to fifth grade. Presenters include people noted in family ministry throughout Synod, including Professor Ben Freudenburg from Concordia University, Ann Arbor. A part of the Children’s Ministry Conference is an artwork display for children ages 3-12.
