Event Description:

Leading From Your DiSC Strengths

Intentional Interim Ministry - Continuing Education Conference

Intentional leaders always lead from their strengths. It is their intimate personal understanding of themselves—and how God made them—which best enables leadership to influence, transform and lead others.

Intentional interim ministry presents one of the greatest opportunities for intention leadership. This DiSC workshop will:

  • Help participants understand themselves, their preferred behavior patterns and how these affect their leadership interactions.
  • Demonstrate examples of their behavior patterns with God’s servants in Scripture, thus showing how God chooses—and uses—all personality patterns for building His Kingdom.
  • Illustrate how our personal behavior patterns and the patterns of those in our churches can become toxic triggers to undermine teambuilding and healthy congregational growth.
  • Help participants strengthen their leadership capacities by recognizing and intentionally addressing their own—and others’—unhealthy behaviors such as reactivity, withdrawal, impatience, over-bearing dominance, et al.
Registration Information:

Online registration is now closed.

Conference registration and lodging are free to Intentional Interim Pastors and spouses. If you have special lodging requirements, please note in the Special Mobility and Dietary Needs section.

Rev. Tom Fischer, M.Div, M.S.A.

Though not an interim, Pastor Tom Fischer completed the NALIP IM training in 2001. He is currently Pastor of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Rochester Hills and founding director of GoodLife Community Partnership. He is married to his wife, Cheryl, for 38 years and counting. His daughter, Michelle, is married and reside in Grand Beach, Michigan. Tom and Cheryl have one “favorite” five-year-old grandson, Emmett.

In addition to ministry, Tom enjoys music and a good round of golf (regardless of the score!).

Rev. Dr. Robert E. Kasper

Rev. Dr. Robert E. Kasper has served three congregations since his ordination in 1983. Since 2011 he has served as an Assistant to the President, MI District, LCMS. In this capacity he has worked with numerous congregations during times of pastoral transition. In particular he has observed the value of Intentional Interim Ministry. Leadership in the context of pastoral transition has become a critical interest for him recently and he brings the best of leadership principles and practical theology together in his presentations.
