Rev. Dr. Bradley Yops

Dr. Yops has been involved in mission plants throughout his ministerial life beginning with his first mission status church upon graduating from Concordia Theological Seminary to his most recent missional endeavor on Flint, Michigan’s Eastside, Franklin Ave Mission.

Dr. Yops has a degree in architecture from Lawrence Technological University and has studied at The University of Michigan in their Urban Design program. Ten years into this profession he sensed God calling him into the ministry and has earned a Master of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary. He has continued his studies in missiology and received a PhD in said field. He was founding pastor and architect of the church he pastored for twenty years, Newlife Community Lutheran in Swartz Creek, Michigan. And he is currently the mission pastor for remissioning an existing Lutheran church, Calvary Lutheran in one of the more impoverished and violent areas of our country — Flints’ Eastside. Using the tools of his previous profession with that of his missiological experience he has crafted with twelve other Lutheran congregations a rebrand of the churches identity in Flint — the Franklin Avenue Mission. Dr. Yops and his wife Jan have been married 45 years and has three children and four grandchildren.
