Teacher of the Year Award

Nominate a Teacher and Principal for the 2017-18 School Year

K-8 & High School Teachers of the Year Nomination
Due by March 1, 2018

Any individual may nominate one teacher in grades K-8 and/or High School for an annual recognition by the Michigan District.

The following criteria must be utilized:

  • Nominee has a current Teaching Certificate
  • Teacher is a visible role model of the characteristics mentioned in 2 Timothy 2:14-26
  • Teacher is known for innovative and creative lesson presentations
  • Teacher has at least three years’ experience
  • Teacher is involved in the congregational community beyond the school and is active in congregational worship

Early Childhood Teacher of the Year Nomination 
Due by March 1, 2018

Anyone may nominate one teacher from infants to Kindergarten for an annual recognition by the Michigan District.

The following criteria must be utilized:

  • Nominee meets State of Michigan guideline for their appropriate level
  • Teacher is a visible role model of the characteristics mentioned in 2 Timothy 2:14-26
  • Teacher is known for innovative and creative lesson presentations
  • Teacher has at least three years’ experience
  • Teacher is involved in the congregational community beyond the school and is active in congregational worship

Selection Process

Nominations are done in February and all individuals who have not previously won this award are eligible to be nominated.

The winner will receive recognition at the Summer Principal’s Conference held at Higgins Lake and in their local congregation.
