Mission Statement
The Purpose of the District Stewardship Committee is to serve the Church by promoting Stewardship resources. It will articulate Biblical Stewardship Principals and review and recommend resources to the congregation for their Stewardship programming.
John E. Herrmann Award
The John E. Herrmann Award was established to recognize faithful stewards in the Michigan District, and to encourage others to greater stewardship within their home congregations. It is named after one of our Synod’s most influential men in the area of stewardship.
The 2023 award will be given to one of our Lutheran schools or early childhood centers which demonstrates the following stewardship principles as developed by the Michigan District Stewardship Board for the spring/fall of 2023. The award will be determined through a percentage of students participating in the program both within the school and also the community at large. The award winning school will receive a plaque commemorating the award and have its name on the John E. Herrmann Award plaque in the Michigan District Office. In addition, it will receive a $1,000 ministry grant.
