Untapped: Exploring the Promise of Prayer

In many areas of our lives, we seek to utilize all the resources at our disposal to accomplish the tasks and goals that are before us. As Christians, however, we often leave resources untapped.

One great resource that God has placed at our disposal is the privilege and joy of coming to Him in prayer. Whether it is forgotten or only thought about as an option of last resort, we miss out on the promises that God has made to us as we speak to Him and submit our lives to Him in prayer.

Join us on February 6 in Lansing for the 2027 Ministry Summit titled Untapped: Exploring the Promise of Prayer. We will hear from keynote speakers Rev. Andy Jones (author of 10 Treasures of Learning to Pray) and Deaconess Sylvia Witt, as well as other speakers from across the Michigan District who will help to explore the promises of prayer.

Jones describes his keynote as follows: “We have received an invitation from the God of all creation to talk with Him in prayer. This invitation stands no matter the time or place, situation, or emotions we are dealing with. We will examine this treasured invitation as well as a pair of treasured lessons: Lament and Rejoicing. Christians often struggle with one or both of these. We may push aside lament and grief to try to be more positive. We may substitute true and lasting joy for temporary happiness. We will follow Jesus and other biblical guides as they teach us these prayer treasures.”

Witt will give a brief consideration of the who’s, the why’s and the do’s in the life of prayer.

In addition to the keynote speakers, there will be 12 breakout sessions on various topics related to prayer. You don’t want to miss it! For more information and to register, click here.
