The Communication Department handles all aspects of the Michigan District’s messaging—from the website, social media, podcasts, and YouTube channel to producing official publications like the weekly E-newsletter and Michigan In Touch. The Communications Team supports committees, events, and District staff through publicity, presentations, media production, and a wide range of communication initiatives that help share the mission and ministry of the District effectively and creatively.

The Digital Footprint Initiative (DFI) was developed by the Michigan District to improve a ministry’s visibility on the web. It is rooted in the research that shows that about 85% of first-time guests choose a church to visit based on a visit to the website.

Disaster Response Ministry

Disaster Response Ministry

Lutheran Church Charities is providing LCMS disaster response training for Lutheran Early Response Teams (LERT). Should a disaster strike, these teams would be put on call and may be asked to deploy in 72 hours or less to the disaster site.
