Your Body, God's Temple - Physical Wellness

Our wellness theme for the next two months comes from “Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:19), which has practical implications for those who serve Christ and His Church. As church workers, we often pour ourselves out in serving others. Being called to serve is a gift, just as physical wellness is also a gift and responsibility from God. Caring for our bodies through rest, healthy habits, and movement is not selfish; it helps sustain us for the vocations God has given us. Physical wellness is not about achieving perfection; it is about faithful stewardship of the bodies through which God enables us to serve our families, congregations, and communities with strength, endurance, and joy.

Journaling reflection prompt: Drink more sensibly (10 PTS)

After you log into your Power of Vitality page, go to Explore Health Topics on the lower right side of the page, then click on “See all health topics” and scroll down to “Sensible Drinking.” Once you click on that tab, you will see the journaling prompt and space to record your reflection.

It’s not all about what you put into your body, but what you don’t or moderately do. This journaling exercise allows you to take time to think and reflect about how alcohol fits into your life and affects your health.

Complete this activity when you are free from distraction and can concentrate to get the most value from this tool. There are no right answers here. The most important thing is that you are honest and write whatever comes to mind. Use the input space to record your thoughts. It will help you organize them more clearly and give you something to refer back to.

There are many other activities on this and other topics that can help you earn points as well.
