Community Highlights
It is widely reported that young people have an increased hunger for meaning and community. Recent books include The Surprising Rebirth of Belief in God and Coming to Faith Through Dawkins. To that end, the District is partnering with congregations and existing campus ministries to establish more and stronger campus ministries across the state.
CrossPointe Center for the Trades is a vocational school developed by the Michigan District in partnership with the established Southeast Michigan Construction Academy (SEMCA).

On June 14, 2026, Living Word, Lansing officially opened its Friendship Food Ministry—a mobile food pantry used to not only supply the community with food, but also to check in on them.
For three days, Mackinac Island became much more than one of Michigan's favorite vacation destinations—it became a place for youth and adults to connect with each other and with God.
While ministries like coat distribution, food pantries, an after-school youth center, and so on meet some of the needs, there is another way to look at what the community needs from the Church.
